Having the Israel Defense Forces capture the Palestinian side of the Rafah border crossing and control about a three-and-a-half kilometer stretch of the southern portion of the Philadelphi route on the border with Egypt - that's how Israel responded to Hamas' announcement that it had agreed to the mediators' proposal for a cease-fire in the context of contacts over the release of hostages.
