Here's who is on St. Louis Cardinals 2024 Opening Day roster

LOS ANGELES — Baseball is right around the corner! 

The St. Louis Cardinals have released its 2024 Opening Day roster ahead of its matchup against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday. 

The roster features several rookies, including Victor Scott II who was added following an injury to outfielder Dylan Carlson in spring training. Masyn Winn will also begin his first full season with the Cardinals after joining the team late in the 2023 season.

Brandon Crawford, Kyle Gibson and Andrew Kittredge who were signed during the off-season are also featured on the roster.

Here's the Cardinals 2024 Opening Day roster: 

PITCHERS (13): Ryan Fernandez-RHP, Giovanny Gallegos-RHP, Kyle Gibson-RHP, Ryan Helsley-RHP, Andrew Kittredge-RHP, Matthew Liberatore-LHP, Lance Lynn-RHP, Steven Matz-LHP, Miles Mikolas-RHP, Riley O'Brien-RHP, Andre Pallante-RHP, JoJo Romero-LHP and Zack Thompson-LHP;

CATCHERS (2): Willson Contreras and Iván Herrera;

INFIELDERS (7): Nolan Arenado, Matt Carpenter, Brandon Crawford, Brendan Donovan, Paul Goldschmidt, Nolan Gorman and Masyn Winn;

OUTFIELDERS (4): Alec Burleson, Victor Scott II, Michael Siani and Jordan Walker.

Several players will begin the season on the injured list, the most recent addition being Carlson. He suffered a sprained AC joint following a collision with outfielder Jordan Walker in Monday's spring training game. 

Tommy Edman is recovering from an operation on his wrist in October. Lars Nootbaar was injured when he crashed into the outfield wall trying to make a catch earlier this spring. Imaging revealed he had two non-displaced fractures in his ribs. 

Sonny Gray suffered a a "mild" hamstring injury during a spring training game. He was set to be the Cardinals' Opening Day pitcher prior to his injury. Miles Mikolas will take the mound instead on Thursday.
