LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Three people were injured Friday when a tornado hit an industrial building near Lincoln.

Chief Lancaster County Deputy Ben Houchin said Garner Industries, which is on Highway 6 between Lincoln and Waverly, collapsed.

Seventy people were trapped inside, he said. They have all since been rescued.

The three people with injuries were taken to area hospitals.

Bryan Health said it was treating two patients at its west campus. Both patients are in triage, the hospital said.

Matthew Rojas said he watched the tornado from a mile away as it hit Garner Industries.

"I had never seen anything like that close up before," he said.

Rojas was headed home when he saw the funnel clouds.

"I started following the way they were going," he said. "They were moving pretty quickly."

He watched debris flying around the interstate.

"It was crazy," he said. "There was a semi truck thrown across the interstate right here in front of us."

Houchin confirmed that a semitrailer had tipped over on Interstate 80. It's not clear whether anyone was injured.

Houchin said the sheriff's office also responded to a train derailment.
