Updated: Trains running normally after flash flooding closed railway lines

The flooding that caused problems on the railways in Yorkshire on Monday has now receded and trains are running normally.

Heavy rain led to flash flooding on the track between Harrogate and Leeds.

As a result, all lines between the two were closed on Monday evening.

It affected

• LNER services between Harrogate and London Kings Cross
• Northern services between Harrogate / York and Leeds.

National Rail says trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised.

Disruption was expected until 9pm.

Rail replacement services were being brought in. LNER says affected passengers can also use its tickets on Northern trains.

Flooding has also closed the line between Halifax and Bradford Interchange.

Services affected include

• Grand Central services between London Kings Cross and Bradford Interchange
• Northern services between Blackpool North and York.
