KOLKATA:

Bengal governor C V Ananda Bose

returned to Kolkata on Monday eveni-ng and immediately launch-ed a frontal attack on the

Mamata Banerjee government

, prompting the Trinamool to hit back and say the "consequences will not be good".

"Mamata Banerjee's politics is dirty. I pray to God to save her but that is a difficult responsibility, even for God.

I will never accept this 'didigiri' on the distinguished office of the governor," said Bose, who is under a cloud following molestation charges levelled by a

Raj Bhavan employee

(who quit her job after that). He was speaking to newspersons after landing at the airport following a flight back from Kerala.

The former Raj Bhavan employee had levelled the molestation charges and filed a police complaint against the governor on Thursday evening. Bose left for Kerala on Friday morning.

Bose has issued a gag order on Raj Bhavan staffers, instructing them not to speak to cops and also "banned" cops and state finance minister Chandrima Bhattacharya from the Raj Bhavan.

Minister Bhattacharya responded soon after the governor's statement. "His disrespectful comments against the CM immediately after returning reflects his attitude towards women. So he wants to do dadagiri? Bengal's people will show him.... The consequences will not be good," she said.

The state BJP unit appeared to distance itself from the issue. State unit chief Sukanta Majumdar said on Monday that he did not want to comment on the controversy. "The governor's position deserves respect. I will not comment on the issue and Raj Bhavan will say whatever needs to be said," he said.
