The Mumbai Crime Branch on Tuesday made its fifth arrest in the case regarding firing at Salman Khan's residence in Bandra.

The Mumbai Crime Branch on Tuesday made its fifth arrest in the case regarding firing at Bollywood actor Salman Khan's residence in Bandra. The fifth accused in the case was arrested by the cops from Rajasthan, and has been identified as Mohammad Chaudhary, reported ANI.

According to the investigation, Mohammad Chaudhary helped the two shooters, now apprehended, in carrying out the firing incident at Galaxy Apartments on Sunday, April 14. Chaudhary allegedly helped the two shooters do recce of the scene of the crime, and provided them with money.

The Mumbai Crime Branch said in a statement, "Chaudhary is being brought to Mumbai today where he will be produced in the court and a demand for custody will be made."

The arrest of Chaudhary comes amidst the ongoing investigation into the firing incident that rattled the Bandra area of Mumbai. This arrest adds another layer to the complex web of individuals linked to the attack on Salman Khan's residence.

The incident took place on April 14, when two assailants on a bike opened fire outside Galaxy Apartments, where Salman Khan lives. The two also fired shots towards Khan's apartment before fleeting the scene. The two shooters were apprehended by the police, and connections to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang were revealed.

Tragically, the case took a grim turn with the demise of Anuj Thapan, one of the arms suppliers involved. Thapan was found dead in his cell on May 1, reportedly by suicide. Mumbai Police disclosed that Thapan had attempted to take his own life while in custody and was pronounced dead after being rushed to the hospital.

Anuj Thapan's arrest on April 26 marked a significant breakthrough in the investigation, shedding light on the network responsible for providing weapons to the perpetrators of the attack.
