Jaipur: A day after re-examination was conducted at a centre in Sawai Madhopur for National Entrance and Eligibility Test (NEET),

Congress

leaders targeted the BJP govt alleging that the paper had been leaked.

Senior Congress leader

Rahul Gandhi

took to social media platform X and said that the news of NEET exam paper leak was a "betrayal of the dreams of more than 23 lakh students and their families."

"Be it the students who dream of getting admission in college after passing 12th or the promising youth who are struggling for govt jobs, Modi govt has become a curse for everyone… Congress has resolved to free the youth from paper leaks by making strict laws.

A healthy and transparent environment for students is our guarantee," said Gandhi.

Former chief minister

Ashok Gehlot

also took to social media platform X and said that the paper leak mafia was active in the entire country due to the negligence of the BJP govt and its lack of will to take action.

"In Rajasthan, our govt had made a stringent law with punishment up to life imprisonment to stop paper leaks. Congress guarantees that if its govt is formed at the Centre, a strict law will be made at the national level against paper leaks," said Gehlot.

State Congress president Govind Singh Dotasra on X said, "Due to the corruption of the BJP govt, news of

NEET paper leak

is coming out, the future of lakhs of youth has been played with. After coming to power in Rajasthan, the #Parchi_government has completely failed in the first major examination. After NCC and college-university (exams), the news of NEET paper leak has exposed the weak BJP government."

BJP's student wing ABVP on Monday also expressed concern over incidents such as English medium question papers given to Hindi-medium students in Sawai Madhopur, and dummy candidates caught in Bharatpur during the NEET exam.

Yagywalkya Shukla, national general secretary of ABVP, said, "The mismanagement during the conduct of NEET-UG is extremely shameful and sad. ABVP demands that these issues be investigated and the situation be clarified soon."

The National Testing Agency in a statement said that on Sunday it came to their attention that at one examination center in Sawai Madhopur, "there was an incident of incorrect distribution of question papers by the center superintendent."

"Despite the efforts by invigilators to prevent it, some candidates left the examination center with question papers. However, the NTA assures the public that apart from this isolated incident, the NEET (UG) 2024 examination commenced smoothly… The NTA emphasizes that this incident has not compromised the integrity of the examination process at other centers," the agency said.

On Sunday evening, the examination was conducted once again for 120 candidates at the Sawai Madhopur exam centre.
