Hyderabad: Hyderabad experienced a much-needed respite from the scorching heat that persisted for over 10 days as early morning showers drenched the city. The rain, starting around 4:30 am, gradually enveloped the entire city. Cloud cover lingered until the early hours, contributing to the cooling effect.

The day had the city grappling with sultry conditions particularly during noon. However, by evening, the weather took a sharp turn with thick cloud cover enveloping the skyline, accompanied by severe gusty winds that swept through the entire cityscape.

By 5 pm., darkness descended upon Hyderabad as the cloud cover intensified. Light to moderate showers were witnessed across various parts of the city.

The stormy weather persisted for several hours, with hailstorms reported in areas, including Miyapur and Lingampally. The sudden downpour and strong winds caught many commuters off guard, leading to disruptions in transportation. Two and four-wheelers were forced to halt midway as visibility decreased.

Instances of tree felling and electrical issues were reported from several neighborhoods.

The Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TSSPDCL) issued alerts to the public regarding safety precautions.

Meanwhile, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation's Disaster Response Force team was on the ground, swiftly clearing water stagnation in various parts of the city
