It's been a busy Monday in the League of Ireland Premier Division as Damien Duff's Shelbourne claimed a dramatic 1-1 draw with Derry City.

Earlier, Shamrock Rovers were shocked 3-1 at home to Waterford, while Bohemians went down 1-0 to Galway United. St Pat's, meanwhile, suffered a 1-0 defeat at Sligo Rovers.

Here's how the action unfolded.

Read the match report from the Ryan McBride Brandywell as Boyd rescues a point for Shels:

Full-time: Derry City 1-1 Shelbourne

Maher launches a free-kick into the box but it's cleared and that's it. Just as Derry looked like they were about to seal a massive three points, Shels come up with a late goal to earn a share of the spoils.

Damien Duff's side now have a three-point advantage over Shamrock Rovers and Derry City, who are both on 24 points, at the top of the table.

Four minutes of additional time to play.

Scenes at the Brandywell as Shels draw level! Jarvis produces a bit of magic out wide before crossing for substitute Sean Boyd, who pokes it past Brian Maher in the Derry City goal.

Boyce takes down Jarvis with a clumsy tackle and becomes Derry's fifth player in the book.

Shels have ten minutes plus add-ons to rescue something here, but Derry are still working extremely hard to close them down.

Will Jarvis, who has been the match-winner in the past, is having an off-night but Duff has kept him on the pitch.

Derry have been playing some nice football in Shels' half in the past few minutes.

O'Reilly, who is having a terrific game, finds Hoban with a clipped ball but the striker doesn't trouble Kearns.

Ciaran Coll's half-volley is blocked and goes behind for a Derry corner.

That's hit deep and Kelly then drags Kearns to the ground to pick up a booking.

Great save by Conor Kearns!

Will Patching threads a beautiful pass through to O'Reilly, who goes past Barrett before looking to roll it beyond Kearns.

The Shels 'keeper makes himself big to deny Derry a second.

Damien Duff is about to change things and there are a couple of substitutes getting ready to enter the fray...

A third Derry City player is booked. On each occasion, it has been for a foul on Liam Burt.

That's a golden opportunity for Shels to equalise. Burt attempts to redirect Kameron Ledwidge's shot from distance but sends it over the bar.

Derry City take the lead! Shels get themselves in a bit of bother attempting to play out from the back, and McMullan pounces to whip the ball into the bottom corner from 20 yards out.

That's his first goal for the club and he deserves it.
