A woman is recovering in hospital from multiple stabs wounds while police search for a female suspect who was captured on video.

Saskatoon police continue to search for a suspect after an altercation sent a woman to hospital on Friday afternoon.

Around 2:50 p.m., police received a report that someone had been stabbed in the 300 block of 23rd Street East, police said in a news release on Monday.

Arriving officers found a woman suffering from multiple stab wounds. Medavie Health Services West took her to hospital with injuries they believed to be non-life-threatening, the release stated.

The suspect had fled before officers arrived.

Police said investigating officers obtained video evidence from the incident, and are working to identify the female suspect. Once found, she will be charged with aggravated assault and theft.
