Burnaby RCMP seeking Central Park assault suspect

The RCMP has released a sketch and the description of a suspect in connection to an alleged sexual assault in Burnaby's Central Park.

Mounties say on the morning of February 19, 2024, a woman in her 80s was walking along a trail when she was approached by a stranger.

Police say the suspect allegedly groped and tried to kiss the woman.

Now Burnaby RCMP are asking for the public's help in identifying a man described as 40 to 45-years-old with a long groomed beard and short thick black hair. At the time of the assault, he was reportedly wearing a grey nylon jacket and black pants.

The victim was not injured and officers say no similar incidents in the area have been reported recently.
