Expect travel disruptions this weekend in Toronto; Here's what you need to know - NOW Toronto

People in Toronto are in for a weekend of road closures and transit delays  due to multiple events and construction projects.

Here's what to keep in mind while travelling:

Toronto Marathon

Lane closures will be in effect on Sunday for the marathon and its support races, however roads will re-open in phases throughout the day as the race moves along.

Khalsa Day Parade

Numerous road closures will be in effect in Etobicoke on Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. for the parade, according to reports.

TTC disruptions

On Saturday and Sunday, service on Line 1 between Lawrence West and Wilson Stations will operate on a single-track due to planned maintenance.

Travellers will have to transfer to trains at Lawrence West and Wilson Stations to continue their journeys.

GO Trains

Starting late Friday night until Sunday, no trains will be running on the Lakeshore East Line.

GO buses will replace train service at Union Station Bus Terminal, Pickering, Ajax, Whitby and Durham College Oshawa GO stations.  

There will be no GO Train service at Rouge Hill, Guildwood, Eglinton, Scarborough and Danforth GO. Customers will need to use the TTC to complete their journeys.
