Get ready to samba your way into the heart of Brazil right here in Florida, because after a twelve year wait, the vibrant spectacle of Brazilian Festival is making its grand debut in Tampa on May 18.

With dazzling costumes, the rhythm of Brazilian beats and the aroma of mouthwatering Brazilian cuisine — the Brazilian Festival is a carnival extravaganza celebrating Brazil's rich culture and infectious energy.

This will be the 13th year the Brazilian Festival will take place —and the first time Tampa has the distinction of hosting.

Each year, the festival, which organizers refer to as the "largest community event in the state," celebrates Brazil's rich musical heritage and diversity, showcasing some of Brazil's most iconic artists and featuring Brazilian art, dancers, exhibits, children's activities and of course —food.

This year's event will feature music all day by DJ Erickson Cruz and performances from several artists, including Brazil's iconic rock band and winner of the MTV People's Choice Awards, Nenhum de Nós, Brazilian singer, Sandami, local Florida band, O Som Do Jazz —featuring Rio de Janeiro singer Andrea Moraes Manson, Karen Hora Locka, Capoeira Males Tampa and Ballet Corpo Arte Cultural Center.

A traditional carnival parade will begin at 3 p.m.

Last year's event, held at Seminole Casino in Coconut Creek, Florida, drew thousands of visitors.

In a post to its website, Visit Tampa Bay announced, "after countless requests, twelve years of overwhelming success and trendsetting cultural diversity, Florida's most iconic and traditional community festival is coming closer to 'your hearts.' On May 18, 2024, and for the first time in 12 years, Tampa will host the 13th Edition of the Annual Brazilian Festival."

How do I get tickets for Brazilian Festival 2024?

Tickets are selling fast, and organizers believe the event will sell out in advance. Tickets are $35 per person though May 13. After that (if any tickets are available) the price goes up $5 to $40 per person. Children under the age of 12 are admitted free.

Brazilian Fest will take place Saturday, May 18, from 12 to 10 p.m. at Water Works Park, 1701 N. Highland Ave. in Tampa.
