Premier Jeremy Rockliff has said he will welcome any actions or recommendations that may come from an economic review of the state's finances.

"We welcome the agreement that we've struck in terms of the terms of reference and indeed the appointment of Saul to the Independent Review as part of the JLN agreement," he said.

"This is a great example of collaboration across the parliament between the government and the JLN.

"I look forward to any actions and or recommendations that may well come forward out of that review.

"And we'll look at those very seriously as we move forward."

Prominent economist, Nicholas Gruen will be providing an independent financial modelling of the controversial Macquarie Point project.

When asked what was more important, the agreement with the JLN or the stadium, Mr Rockliff said it's important to "maintain budget discipline".

"And when you grow the economy through infrastructure of whatever kind, employing many thousands of Tasmanians, that's when you can grow the economy and fund those essential services that all Tasmanians care about," he said.

The Jacqui Lambie Network expects the review to be completed in August.
