Human bones believed found in Glen Lomond Park bushland on Toowoomba escarpment

Police have declared a crime scene in a parcel of southern Queensland bushland after what they believe to be human bones were discovered on Monday afternoon.

Authorities say the bones were found by a member of the public at Glen Lomond Park in the Toowoomba suburb of Middle Ridge at about 3pm.

Investigations are underway and searches are occurring in the area as of Tuesday. 

It is unknown at this stage how long the bones have been there. 

Glen Lomond Park is located on the southern part of the Toowoomba escarpment and features several trails popular with hikers and horseriders.

Anyone with information has been urged to contact police.
