TALLAHASSEE -- No. 10 Florida State baseball will be the No. 5 seed at the ACC Tournament. Virginia leaped the Seminoles for the final top-four seed on the final day of the regular season by completing a sweep of Virginia Tech with an extra-innings win. Pool D will also include Georgia Tech (No. 9 seed). GT rallied from two deficits late on Saturday afternoon to win the regular season finale at Howser, which kept FSU from securing the No. 4 seed.

The other top-four seeds are No. 1 North Carolina, No. 2 Clemson, and No. 3 NC State. Notre Dame and Boston College were the two teams not to make the tournament. In the ACC tournament, there are four pools with three teams. The top seed from each pool advances if all three teams go 1-1. Teams seeded No. 5-12 must go 2-0 to advance to the semifinals.

The 2024 ACC Baseball Championship begins on May 21. The semifinals are on Saturday, May 25, with the finals following on Sunday, May 26. This year's tournament will be held at Truist Field in Charlotte, N.C. Game times will be announced this Sunday.

FSU has not played Virginia this season. The Cavaliers finished the regular season 40-14 and 18-12 in the ACC. UVA went to the College World Series last season. They rank No. 12 in RPI and are 8-7 against quad-one opponents. UVA is ranked No. 18 by D1Baseball.

Georgia Tech is 31-21 and 15-15 in the ACC. FSU outscored GT 19-6 in the first two games of the series. The Yellow Jackets salvaged the series with an 11-10 win in game three, which included a 21-hour weather delay.

"Charlotte, I've coached in five or six different conferences, and this tournament does allow you to breathe a little bit," Link Jarrett said on Saturday. "The format of this does give you a chance to know when you're playing and gives the guys an opportunity to at least not feel like they're stressed to the point of physically having to play 7 or 8 games. So that's good, and I think I think that'll help us. And it is a unique venue. They do a fantastic job of running this event. It's a cool city, so we have that to look forward to."
