Ten lucky Aussies will be celebrating life after winning big in Thursday night's $100 million Powerball draw.

While no one took home the division one prize, ten residents — one in WA — each scooped up an eyewatering $179,059 after matching seven numbers drawn.

Lotterywest CEO Colin Smith said he expected "close to 1000 tickets to be sold each minute between 4pm to 5pm".

The numbers needed to win the $100 million were 1, 2, 9, 12, 13, 14, 18 and 3.

The Powerball prize will now jackpot to a whopping $150 million — just $50 million off the highest Powerball prize ever offered in Australia.

Hours before Thursday's draw, players were issued an important warning about scammers.

The Lott spokesperson Anna Hobday said players should not respond to any unsolicited messages or click on unfamiliar links.

"The Lott strongly advises customers to be aware of suspicious communication, websites, competitions, and promotions may use The Lott or its brands without our permission.

"Lottery and competition scams can be delivered in person, over the telephone, through the post, by email or SMS.

"We'll never ask for our players' bank account details on the phone and people are always able to check their tickets for themselves on The Lott website, app, and in-store."
