Zac Brown has filed for a temporary restraining order against his estranged wife Kelly Yazdi after she published a number of Instagram posts, including one seemingly accusing him of "narcissistic abuse."

Brown, 45, filed for the temporary restraining order against Yazdi — that would force her to remove the post if granted — on Friday, May 17, in Georgia's Fulton County.

The Zac Brown Band singer alleged that Yazdi, 33, is violating an employee and confidentiality agreement from August 2022.

"After much deliberation, I took the steps necessary to enforce an agreement between us to maintain personal and business affairs in confidence and to protect my family from online harassment and speculation," Brown told PEOPLE in a statement. "My only hope is for us to keep private matters private and to move forward with the mutual respect we had agreed to show one another when we parted ways."

As a part of the temporary restraining order, Yazdi would be forced to delete the Instagram post. In her May 4 post in particular, Yazdi — a former employee of the Zac Brown Band from August 2022 to February 2024 — includes a caption that seemingly refers to her relationship with Brown.

The post also alleged that a person — only referred to as "he" — instructed her not to "model anymore," take photos off of her Instagram, only to wear certain clothing and not to "post anymore fitness videos."

"Projections. Gaslighting. Threatening. Stonewalling," Yazdi wrote in the post. "Those are the ingredients of narcissistic abuse."

Court documents filed by Brown's attorneys and obtained by PEOPLE say that Yazdi "has taken it upon herself to exact revenge upon Mr. Brown" and his company, and also ask her not to "[make] any public statement or disclosing any confidential or private information in violation of the terms of Ms. Yazdi's Employee and Confidentiality Agreements."

The documents also ask Yazdi not to "[make] any defamatory, false, untrue, of otherwise damaging statements regarding ... Mr. Brown and his family, and the Zac Brown Band and any of its members or their family members."

Yazdi did not immediately return PEOPLE's request for comment.

Brown and Yazdi first announced that they were divorcing in December 2023 — four months after they tied the knot in a Georgia ceremony — telling TMZ in a statement at the time: "We are in the process of divorce."

"Our mutual respect for one another remains. We wish each other the best and will always appreciate our time together," the pair said. "As we navigate this personal matter, we simply request privacy during this time."

PEOPLE previously confirmed in December 2022 that the country star had popped the question to the actress.

"He proposed in Hawaii a while ago," a source told PEOPLE at the time. "It was very intimate and the couple has kept it very private."

The "Chicken Fried" singer was previously married to jewelry designer Shelly Brown. The pair, who share five children together, announced their split in October 2018 after 12 years of marriage.
