'We're under their skin. I love it': Kyle Sandilands baits new radio rivals

Kyle Sandilands has taken shots at his new radio rivals in Melbourne, calling their content 'lacklustre' and stoking claims his competitors have been copying content from the Kyle & Jackie O Show.

During their breakfast show on KIIS this week, Sandilands and Jackie 'O' Henderson addressed a Daily Mail article that alleges numerous instances in which The Fox's Fifi, Fev and Nick have copied the marketing tactics and on-air content of their own show.

"Someone wrote an article saying this radio station is copying everything," Sandilands said. "We're doing The Noise, they're doing the Secret Sounds.

"That's not cool.

"We're under their skin, they're scampering. I love it.

"I've heard some people saying they're trying to do edgier content.

"I would suggest that all other radio stations just do what you've always been doing - that lacklustre, no appointment listening. You know, all the laughing, all that shit."

Henderson was less inflammatory, saying, "As a grown adult, I don't really want to be involved in these dumb games."

As for whether Sandilands has a point regarding the content copying, you can judge for yourself.

Kyle & Jackie O officially launched in Melbourne in late April and it didn't take long for the radio wars to kick off, with former-KIIS-now-NOVA breakfast hosts, Jase and Lauren, accusing the duo of a "bully-like" stunt that saw that saw a huge Kyle and Jackie O KIIS FM101.1 bus arrive at their radio meet-and-greet earlier this month.

"They fired us!" Lauren Phillips said regarding the stunt.

"We haven't done anything wrong to them. They got rid of us, told us we weren't good enough, and now they're turning up to where we're standing — there with the people that love our show and listen to our show — trying to sabotage, it's a bit tasteless."
