New stamps from Canada Post highlight the iconic works of Canadian graphic artists, including one from just down Highway 7.

Gregory Gallant, pen name 'Seth', is an influential artist in the underground comic book scene, and creates his works in Guelph, ON.

Gallant is best known for his award-winning graphic novel 'Clyde Fans': a story of two brothers and their battle to keep their air-conditioning business alive.

Gallant said that he was happy to see that graphic novels have grown from what he called a compilation of 'cultural garbage' into the spotlight today.

"It's been a tremendous change to see graphic novels and comics move into the mainstream in a remarkably accepted way," said Gallant. "Certainly, when I started out, I was not thinking that any of us would end up on a postage stamp."

The new stamps also feature art from other Canadian graphic artists like Chester Brown, Jillian and Mariko Tamaki, and Michel Rabagliati.
