Soggy evening in the Piedmont Triad rains out NASCAR

A very soggy evening in the Triad with thunderstorms staying over cities and causing flash flooding. Showers and storms linger through the evening but begin to taper off and wind down by the early overnight. 

Clouds remain into Sunday morning with temperatures in the upper 50s. Sunshine returns Sunday afternoon with temperatures reaching the low 70s. A stray shower can't be ruled out Sunday, however the chance for rain is less than 20%. 

North Wilkesboro Speedway should have no issues with rain Sunday evening for the All-Star Race. Good news for NASCAR fans! 

Monday morning temperatures will be in the upper 50s with highs in the mid 70s. Skies will be partly cloudy and we'll finally be able to dry out! 

Mostly sunny skies Tuesday with temperatures in the upper 50s in the morning and highs reaching the low 80s.

Partly cloudy skies on Wednesday with a low chance for a stray shower. Temperatures will be in the low 60s in the morning and will reach the mid 80s by the afternoon. 

Rain returns on Thursday and remains in the forecast into Memorial Day Weekend. Temperatures will be in the mid 60s in the morning Thursday through Saturday with afternoon highs reaching the low to mid 80s. 

Skies will be partly to mostly cloudy with a 40% chance for showers/storms.
