Thousands of Apple device users reported experiencing issues while using iMessage on Thursday afternoon. Over 13,000 iMessage outages were reported as of just after 6 p.m. ET, according to outage tracker Downtector. Some users reported receiving a "Not Delivered" message while using the app. Others said they had to opt to send a non-iMessage text with a green bubble instead. Apple's online System Status tracker briefly said iMessage was experiencing an issue around 7:00 p.m. ET. USA TODAY was unable to reach Apple for comment, but the company marked the issue resolved around 7:30 p.m., stating that today between 5:49 p.m. and 6:35 p.m. some users were unable to use this service. Users quickly flocked to social media platforms to share their experiences being unable to use the communication platform.
