NEW YORK (PIX11) — Apple's text messaging service iMessage was restored after thousands of Apple users reported outages Thursday evening.

The outages within Apple started around 5:49 p.m., according to the company. Many users were unable to send messages, or they took a significant amount of time to send.

However, the issue was remedied in less than an hour, according to Apple's service status page.

While Apple's service status page didn't share what caused the outages, the site reported that the issues with iMessage, Facetime and HomeKit were resolved at 6:35 p.m., the company shared.
