Omaha upsets Missouri, moves on in NCAA Columbia Regional

MAVERICKS WILL BE THE ONE AND ONLY TEAM FROM THE STATE OF NEBRASKA PLAYING IN THE NCAA DIVISION ONE SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT. NEBRASKA ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE BUBBLE AFTER LOSING IN THE BIG TEN CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT SEMIFINAL OVER THE WEEKEND. MAVERICKS GOING TO COLLEGE. SOFTBALL'S VERSION OF THE BIG DANCE FOR THE SECOND STRAIGHT SEASON, AND THEY ARE IN A LOADED REGIONAL UNO PLAYS THE SEVENTH SEEDED NATIONALLY. MISSOURI TIGERS ON FRIDAY, AND THAT'S AFTER INDIANA OPENS UP AGAINST SKUTT GRAD RUBY MALAN IN THE WASHINGTON. HUSKIES MAT SATELE NOW WITH THE MAVERICKS WHEN THEY LEARN THEIR FATE AT THE TEAM'S WATCH PARTY. THE SUMMIT LEAGUE CHAMPIONS ARE. YOU ALWAYS SAY THAT'S THE GOAL, BUT YOU ALSO KNOW HOW HARD IT IS FOR THAT TO HAPPEN, SO YOU APPRECIATE IT EVERY TIME IT HAPPENS. OMAHA SOFTBALL IS BACK IN THE BIG DANCE AFTER WINNING THREE STRAIGHT ELIMINATION GAMES DURING THE SUMMIT LEAGUE TOURNAMENT, THE MAVS PUNCHED A TICKET FOR THE SECOND STRAIGHT SEASON. THIS PAST WEEKEND WAS A TESTAMENT TO HOW STRONG THIS TEAM IS, AND I THINK THAT WE'RE GOING TO BE ABLE TO DO SOMETHING SUPER SPECIAL IN THIS REGIONAL LAST YEAR, WHEN OMAHA SOFTBALL MADE THE FIELD OF 64 FOR THE FIRST TIME IN PROGRAM HISTORY, THEY WERE JUST HAPPY TO BE THERE AND SOAKING IT IN. THIS TIME AROUND, THE MAVS ARE READY TO MAKE A SPLASH. I THINK THIS YEAR WE'RE REALLY HERE TO COMPETE. WE KNOW WE HAVE AND I HONESTLY BELIEVE THIS IS THE BEST TEAM THAT I'VE PLAYED ON IN MY FIVE YEARS HERE, SO I HAVE FULL CONFIDENCE THAT WE CAN GO IN AND COMPETE WITH WHOEVER, WHOEVER WE PLAY. IT'LL ALSO MARK THE LAST TIME THAT THIS GROUP OF EIGHT SENIORS, LED BY SUMMIT LEAGUE PITCHER OF THE YEAR CAMERON MEYER, WILL PLAY ALONGSIDE EACH OTHER. THAT'S PROBABLY THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO ME IS TO SEE THEM HAVE THIS OPPORTUNITY. UH, ALL THE SENIORS, YOU KNOW, THEY'VE WORKED SO HARD AND AND TO HAVE THEM HAVE THIS LAST OPPORTUNITY JUST SO, SO, SO PROUD OF THEM AND GLAD THEY GET TO DO IT AGAIN. WE JUST WANT TO GIVE EVERYTHING THAT WE HAVE OUT THERE. WE NEVER KNOW WHEN THE LAST TIME ON THE FIELD IS GOING TO BE. SO I THINK JUST PLAYING EVERY GAME LIKE IT'S OUR LAST. THE ACTION BEGINS ON FRIDAY WHEN THE MAVS PLAY THE HOST SCHOOL, MISSOURI, REPORTING IN OMAHA MAT
